BSC Expands Athletic Department with Addition of Competitive Dance Team

Bismarck State College (BSC) is thrilled to announce the addition of a Competitive Dance team to its growing roster of athletic programs. This exciting new venture will see the team compete in the American Midwest Conference, offering students a dynamic platform to showcase their talents and foster school spirit.

Leading the Competitive Dance team will be Angie Neigum and Madeline Neigum.

The Competitive Dance team will have the opportunity to participate in a myriad of competitions, both large-scale and smaller invitational events, within the conference. These competitions will feature a variety of dance styles, including Pom, Jazz, and Lyrical, with some performances even incorporating a blend of these styles. Such diversity ensures that team members can develop a wide range of skills and techniques.

Dance is renowned for being a year-round sport, demanding dedication and discipline from its participants. Practices are scheduled to start as soon as the academic year commences. The competitive season peaks during late winter and early spring, providing ample time for the team to hone their routines and perfect their performances.

The vision for the BSC Competitive Dance team is to build a cohesive and talented group of dancers. Optimizing the team size to ensure that each member receives personalized coaching and support, fostering a collaborative environment where all dancers can thrive.
