The Bismarck State College men's rodeo team continues to shine in their first year back, clinching first place at the DSU Bluehawk Stampede, an event that included ten collegiate teams. The Mystics delivered an outstanding performance, amassing a total of 775 points to win the team competition, outpacing South Dakota State University, which earned 480 points to finish in second place.
The Mystics' success was driven by exceptional individual performances. In the steer wrestling event,
Hadly Erickson claimed first place, while
Cael Hilzendeger secured a commendable fourth position. The tie down roping event saw
Tyler Hansen emerge as the champion, with Hilzendeger close behind in second place. Additionally, the duo of Hilzendeger and
Sam Andrews showcased their teamwork in the team roping event, finishing in second place for the Mystics.
Cael Hilzendeger's remarkable all-around performance earned him the All-around Champion award, underscoring his versatility and skill across multiple events.
The Mystics next travel to Iowa Central Community College on October 4 and 5.
