MINOT, N.D. – Bismarck State women's wrestling was on the road Sunday Afternoon for the second half of a tri-dual with Minot State (N.D.), a 30-17 loss at the Minot State Dome.
Minot State opened the dual by capitalizing on a string of forfeits in the upper and lower weights, picking up five points apiece at 145, 160, 180, 207 and 103 pounds to build an early advantage.
Bismarck State responded in the middle of the lineup with a strong stretch of performances. At 110 pounds, Hailyann Turner put the Mystics on the board with a fall over Alexa Garcia at the 3:43 mark. Lakota Rogers followed with a forfeit win at 117, trimming the deficit.
The Mystics continued to gain momentum at 124 pounds as Rei Ogden earned a technical fall over Skye Shelmerdine, 1444, at 4:23. At 131 pounds, Alexis Schneider secured a hard-fought 5-4 decision over Alyssa Jones to pull BSC within striking distance.
Minot State closed out the dual at 138 pounds, where Lovey Beebe recorded an 8-0 decision over Adrian Steidler to seal the team victory.
Bismarck State (2-2) finished the night with four individual wins and showed depth and competitiveness through the heart of the lineup despite conceding multiple forfeits.
The Mystics' next action will be against these Beavers as they turn around to welcome Minot State (6-7) on Wednesday, Feb. 4, for a 7 p.m. dual.
