OSKALOOSA, Iowa – Bismarck State men's wrestling placed 11th in the 12-team field at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Wrestling Championship on Friday and Saturday, finishing with 40.5 points in their first conference tournament as members of the NAIA. Will Sprenger punched his ticket to the 2026 NAIA National Championships with his fourth-place finish in the 157-pound bracket.
Grand View captured the team title with 264.5 points, followed by Missouri Valley (172.5), Central Methodist (150.5), Graceland (107) and Dickinson State (99.5). Apart from Sprenger, the Mystics saw three other wrestlers place at the tournament, with
Owen Lindstrom (125),
John Kenney (133), and
Kameron Stiffler (141) each finishing seventh in their respective weight classes.
The Mystics will hope to get up to three additional at-large bids to nationals to have someone join Sprenger at the
NAIA National Championships, held in Wichita, Kan., March 5-7.
