BISMARCK, N.D. -- Bismarck State College (BSC) will christen the return of Mystics football with a home matchup against Hastings (Neb.) at noon on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2027, at the MDU Resources Community Bowl, the program's first home game in 42 years.
Head coach Chris Stutzriem and director of athletics Jason Harris have announced the home game dates for the 2027 season, which includes five games at the MDU Resources Community Bowl on BSC's campus:
- Aug. 28 (Sat.) – vs. Hastings (Neb.), 12 p.m.
- Sept. 25 (Sat.) – Home Game #2 (Homecoming), Frontier Conference
- Oct. 9 (Sat.) – Home Game #3, Frontier Conference
- Oct. 30 (Sat.) – Home Game #4, Frontier Conference
- Nov. 13 (Sat.) – Home Game #5, Frontier Conference
"We're proud to bring football home for the first time in 42 years, and there's no better way to do that than in front of our fantastic fans and community," Harris said. "Coach Stutzriem and his staff have put in tremendous work building this roster from the ground up, and we can't wait for MysticNation to fill the Bowl on Aug. 28."
Stutzriem and staff are already at work building the program, currently holding practices at the bowl with the Mystics' first signing class of 37 players. He is joined on staff by assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Teague Blome, defensive coordinator Josh Winfield, run game coordinator Jordan Melendo, running backs coach Kiel Parkhurst, player personnel and alumni relations coordinator Chris Holgard, and student assistant Khalil White.
"We are very excited for Aug. 28, 2027, to step out on the field at the Bowl," Stutzriem said. "We have a long way to go in recruiting and building the roster, but we are looking forward to it. We are very appreciative of the support from the BSC campus, BSC football alumni and the Bismarck-Mandan area."
Game times and conference opponents will be announced at a later date.
