Originally from Billings, Mont., Jess Smith has called North Dakota home since 2018. She is entering her first year at Bismarck State College and her third year as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Jess's sports include Football, Women's Rodeo, Men's Rodeo, Women's Wrestling and Men's Wrestling.

Jess Smith earned a Bachelor's in Exercise Science from Dickinson State University before continuing her education at the University of North Dakota, where she earned her Master's in Athletic Training. Her professional certifications include Functional Dry Needling Level 1.

In 2025, Jess was honored as the Co-Athletic Staff Member of the Year at Dickinson State University, in recognition of her dedication and contributions to the athletic department.

At BSC, Jess will also serve as an adjunct instructor for HPER courses, bringing her passion for teaching and commitment to education into the classroom. Having always had a desire to teach, she is excited for the opportunity to share her knowledge, experience, and passion with the next generation of students.

With a passion for athletic health, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and helping athletes perform at their best, Jess Smith is excited to continue growing professionally while serving the Bismarck State College community.
