BISMARCK – Bismarck State College put the finishing touches on the MonDak Conference regular season with a doubleheader split against Williston State Sunday at Haaland Field.

The Mystics (18-6 MonDak, 27-7 overall) finish the regular season in second place and play Lake Region State College in a three-game series next Saturday and Sunday (if necessary) in Bismarck for a berth in the Region XIII tournament. 

The Mystics won Sunday's opener 12-5 on just four hits – and 12 bases on balls. Jordan Tucker had two hits, scored a run in the four-run third inning and drove in a run in the five-run fifth. Drion Alexander, JJ Ritter and Will Bachman scored two runs apeiece. Kyle Odenbach got the win after giving up two hits and striking out six. 

The Mystics didn't have much luck against one of the conference's top hurlers in the second game. Kameron Bartholomew allowed seven hits, all but one a single while going the distance. Bachman drove in Brennan Phillips with two outs in the third for BSC's only run.

Carson Zimmel dueled Bartholomew pitch for pitch through five innings. But he was replaced with two in the sixth inning trailing 2-1, and the Tetons scored nine times in the sixth to put the game away.
