The Bismarck State College Mystics volleyball team showcased their resilience coming off their first conference loss of the season with a thrilling match against Lake Region State College, securing a decisive 3-0 victory. The games were tightly contested, with scores of 28-26, 25-23, and 25-16.
Standout performances propelled the Mystics to success. Asiah Gross led the charge with an impressive 14 kills. Chelsa Krom contributed significantly with 10 kills and played a crucial role defensively, assisting on five blocks.
Taryn Sieg added to the team's point tally with seven kills and showed her defensive skills with four block assists. Delany Deschamp orchestrated the team's plays with a team-leading 22 assists, while Kate Zimmer supported with 20 assists and showcased her serving skills with two service aces.
Defensively, the Mystics were anchored by Maya Vibeto, who recorded 20 digs, and Caton Pearcy, who added 16 digs and shone at the service line with three aces. Their efforts were instrumental in keeping the team's momentum and countering their opponent's attacks.
The Mystics overall record is 20-3, and they are 9-1 in conference.
The Mystics take to the road to take on Dawson Community College on October 15, then return home to face Miles Community College on October 16 for homecoming.
