The Bismarck State College Mystics volleyball team went into day two of the DMACC Invitational looking to build on their results from day one. They would replicated Saturdays results going 1-1, finishing with a 2-2 record for the weekend.
In their opening match of the day, the Mystics triumphed over Des Moines Area Community College with a 3-1 victory. The game scores were 22-25, 25-18, 25-16, and 25-8. Asiah Gross led the offensive charge with an impressive ten kills, supported by Caton Pearcy and Reese Duchsherer, who each contributed eight kills. Pearcy also made a significant impact with five service aces. The team's offense was expertly orchestrated by Kate Zimmer, who tallied 20 assists, while Chelsa Krom was a formidable presence at the net with eight block assists. On defense, Maya Vibeto was a standout with 26 digs, helping to secure the win.
In their second match, the Mystics faced a formidable opponent in Kirkwood Community College and fell 0-3, with game scores of 18-25, 16-25, and 17-25. Despite the loss, Chelsa Krom continued to shine with 11 kills. Delany Deschamp and Kate Zimmer each contributed 13 assists, providing crucial support to the team's attacking efforts. Maya Vibeto remained a defensive stalwart with 18 digs.
The Mystics overall record is 19-3, and they are 8-0 in conference.
The Mystics continue on the road against North Dakota State College of Science on October 9, then return home to face Lake Region State College on October 11.
