The Bismarck State College Mystics volleyball team concluded an impressive season with a strong showing at the District Championship. Despite their efforts, the Mystics faced two challenging matches against Central Community College-Columbus, ultimately ending their season with an overall record of 25-6.
In the first match of the District Championship, the Mystics demonstrated resilience and determination. The match concluded in a 1-3 loss, with set scores of 13-25, 22-25, 25-13, and 23-25. Chelsa Krom led the team with an impressive 12 kills, while Shaylee Bosch contributed significantly with six block assists and two solo blocks. Kate Zimmer provided crucial support as she tallied 29 assists.
The second match was equally competitive and concluded with a narrow 2-3 defeat, with set scores of 21-25, 16-25, 25-21, 25-18, and 12-15. Caton Pearcy emerged as a standout player, leading the team with 17 kills. Reese Duchsherer added 14 kills, showcasing the team's offensive capabilities. On the defensive end, Maya Vibeto spearheaded the effort with 31 digs, while both Chelsa Krom and Shaylee Bosch contributed four block assists each.
Despite the outcome at the District Championship, the Mystics have much to celebrate. Finishing the season with a record of 25-6, a Mon-Dak Conference championship and a Region XIII championship.
