Bismarck State College Softball Team's Remarkable Journey Ends in the NJCAA Region XIII Tournament

The Bismarck State College Mystics softball team looked to keep the magic flowing as they entered day two of the NJCAA Region XIII tournament.

In the first game of the day against Williston State College, the Mystics would need all the magic they could muster to keep their season going. Down four runs going into the top of the seventh inning, the Mystics erupted for four runs to push the game into extras. Not content with just catching up, they unleashed an eight-run barrage in the eighth inning to secure a 16-8 victory. Dominique Baker was a standout performer, going 2-4 with a home run, driving in two runs, and crossing the plate four times herself. Alexis Wesson and Averie Park also delivered crucial hits, contributing to the team's triumph.

The second game of the day saw even more late inning magic from the Mystics as they faced Dakota County Technical College for the second time in the tournament. Again, the Mystics managed to claw back from a deficit, scoring two runs in the sixth and another two in the seventh inning to take a one-run lead. Despite their efforts, the Blue Knights responded with two runs of their own to clinch an 8-7 victory, bringing the Mystics' season to a close. Daisy Sparrow shone brightly in the game, hitting 2-4 with a home run, driving in three runs, and scoring twice.

The Mystics finish the season with a record of 20-27-1 overall and 10-16 in conference.
