The Bismarck State College (BSC) Mystics volleyball team demonstrated their resilience as they quickly rebounded from their first loss of the season to secure a solid victory in their second match of the day.
In the opening match, the Mystics faced a challenging opponent in Hawkeye Community College and were defeated 3-1, with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 16-25, and 18-25. Despite the loss, standout performances were noted from Caton Pearcy, who led the team with nine kills and contributed to three blocks. Additionally, Asiah Gross, Shaylee Bosch, and Reese Duchsherer each added six kills to the team's effort. Duchsherer also recorded 17 assists, while Bosch aided in three blocks.
Undeterred by their earlier setback, the Mystics came back strong in their next match against Dakota County Technical College, claiming a decisive 3-0 victory. The game scores were 25-15, 25-8, and 25-19. Reese Duchsherer shone brightly with six service aces and 13 assists, complemented by Delany Deschamp, who also tallied 13 assists. Taryn Sieg led the team in kills with an impressive total of eight.
The Mystics have a record of 12-1 overall, 4-0 in conference. The Mystics go on the road again to face Miles Community College on September 17.
