Mystics Wrap Up Fall Rodeo Season with Runner-Up Finish at Triton Stampede

Men finish second and women place seventh at final fall rodeo.

FORT DODGE, Iowa — Bismarck State College closed out the fall portion of the Great Plains Region rodeo schedule in strong fashion at the Triton Stampede hosted by Iowa Central Community College, finishing second in the men's team standings and seventh in the women's.

The Mystics' men were once again paced by a balanced team effort highlighted by event champions and top-five finishes across six disciplines.

Kale Hansen continued his dominant run in the steer wrestling arena, claiming first place to lead all competitors. Teammates Hadly Erickson and Cael Hilzendeger also scored crucial points, placing sixth and eighth, respectively, in the same event.

In the tie-down ropingTyler Hansen earned the championship buckle with a consistent two-round performance, while Grady Larson (7th) and Erickson (10th) added depth to the scoring.

Hilzendeger was everywhere once again, earning third in men's all-around and pairing with Daylon Danks for a sixth-place finish in team roping. BSC's duo of Brycen Glass and Weston Klatt also cracked the top five in that event, taking fourth.

In rough stock, Trevor Andrews placed third in bareback riding, just ahead of teammate Elijah Ramos in fourth, while Ty Brenna picked up fifth in saddle bronc to round out another strong weekend for the men's team.

For the Mystic women, Gabi Irving led the way with an eighth-place finish in barrel racing, and Cale Redlin cracked the top ten in goat tying.

The results capped a productive fall campaign for BSC, with the Mystics finishing the fall portion of the Great Plains Region season in the top half of the men's and women's team standings. The Mystics now have the winter to prepare for the second-half of the season, beginning at the end of March. The official schedule has yet to be released, but typically consists of four rodeos prior to the College National Finals Rodeo, which is slated for June 15-21, 2026 in Casper, Wyoming. The full spring rodeo schedule will be posted here when available.

In the meantime, fans are encouraged to save the date to the BSC Mystics Gold Buckle Gala. The 2026 Gold Buckle Gala will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, with proceeds going to support the Mystics Rodeo program.
