Bismarck State College's softball team kicked off their conference play with an impressive sweep over Williston State College, winning both games in a thrilling doubleheader. The victories set a strong tone for the Mystics as they embark on their conference season.
The Mystics showcased their offensive capabilities in Game 1, securing a 13-11 victory. Key players led the charge, with Savannah Gustavsson delivering an outstanding performance. Gustavsson went 3 for 4 at the plate, driving in four runs and scoring twice. Brynn Arnold also made significant contributions, going 4 for 4, driving in two runs and scoring three times, while Grace Grimm added to the offensive onslaught by going 3 for 3 and scoring once.
The second game of the doubleheader saw the Mystics continue their winning momentum, capturing a decisive win. Savannah Gustavsson maintained her stellar form, going 3 for 3 and scoring twice. Brielle Wrangham contributed by going 1 for 2, driving in two runs, and scoring once. Elin Williams played a key role as well, going 1 for 3 with two RBIs and a run scored. On the mound, Caris Paul delivered an exceptional performance, pitching a complete game of 7 innings, allowing only one earned run on seven hits.
The Mystics are 11-6-1 overall and 2-0 in conference.
