The Bismarck State College (BSC) Mystics baseball team showcased their skill and perseverance with a standout performance, capturing two victories against Dakota County Technical College in a thrilling doubleheader. The Mystics dominated game one with a commanding 10-1 victory, followed by a nail-biting 6-5 win in game two.
In the first game of the doubleheader, BSC's Cole Shirley delivered an impressive performance on the mound. Pitching for 7 innings, Shirley allowed just one run and three hits, striking out three batters without conceding any walks. Key contributors offensively included Andrew Niaves, who went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs, and Pacey Phillips, who went 2-for-3 and scored three runs, propelling the team to victory.
The second game was a closely contested battle, with BSC ultimately prevailing 6-5. Josh Bourbeau played a crucial role in relief, pitching three innings without allowing a run and securing the win.
