Bismarck State College is proud to announce that Cole Shirley, a standout freshman on the baseball team, has been named the Mon-Dak Player of the Week. Demonstrating exceptional performance on the field, Shirley has proven himself as a versatile athlete, playing both as a utility player and right-handed pitcher (UTIL/RHP) for the Bismarck State College Mystics.
Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and an alumnus of Washburn High School, Shirley has consistently showcased his ability on the field. Earning the Player of the Week honor by batting average of .381, going 8 for 21 at the plate, which included 3 home runs, 1 double, and an impressive 10 RBIs. Additionally, he scored 8 runs, walked 3 times, and successfully stole 4 bases.
The accolade of Mon-Dak Player of the Week, is his second award of the season, and adds to Shirley's growing list of achievements. Earlier in the season, he was also named Mon-Dak Pitcher of the Week in February, demonstrating his dual-threat potential and versatility on the field.
The Mystics are 24-19 overall and 10-10 in conference.
