Second-Half Shooting Sends No.19 Montana Tech Past BSC, 90–68

BISMARCK, N.D. – Bismarck State men's basketball was unable to keep pace after halftime on Thursday night, falling 90-68 to Montana Tech in Frontier Conference action at the BSC Armory.

Montana Tech led 37-30 at the break before pulling away in the second half, shooting 60.6% from the field and 52.9% from three-point range over the final 20 minutes to extend the margin. The Orediggers outscored the Mystics 53-38 after halftime and never relinquished control.

Bismarck State (0-14, 0-8 Frontier) shot 38.2% from the field and 7-of-17 (41.2%) from beyond the arc. The Mystics went 19-of-25 at the free-throw line and committed 13 turnovers, which Montana Tech converted into 19 points.

Houston Davis led BSC with 15 points and seven rebounds while shooting 5-of-7 from the floor. Jah Gulley added 12 points off the bench, and Carter Zeller finished with nine points. Kamayua Black Jr. chipped in seven points, while Tristin Davis contributed five points and four rebounds.

Montana Tech (11-3, 5-3 Frontier) shot 57.4% from the field for the game and placed eight players in the scoring column. Asher Williams led all scorers with 22 points, while Brayden Koch added 19 points on 4-of-6 shooting from three-point range. Camdyn LaRance and Hayden Diekhans each finished with 11 points.

The Orediggers held advantages in bench scoring (38-29) and points in the paint (36-14), using efficiency and depth to maintain separation throughout the second half.

The Mystics will look to get things going in their 2026 conference slate tomorrow, Jan. 3, as they welcome the Montana Western Bulldogs to Bismarck for a 7 p.m. game.
