BISMARCK, N.D. – The Bismarck State College men's basketball team, under the direction of fifth-year head coach Kevin Rice, has announced its schedule for the 2026-2027 season, setting the stage for their conference debut in the newly constructed Bavendick Center. Heading into the new season, the crew has a clear target as they look to surprise the conference, establish their presence and build a strong new foundation.
In year number two in the Frontier conference, Rice states, "the goal will be to win more games, to be more competitive, and hopefully end up with one of those top [eight] seeds to make the conference tournament."
The Mystics will tip off early season action on the road in San Antonio, Texas, with matchups at Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) on Friday, Oct. 23, and Texas A&M-San Antonio on Saturday, Oct. 24. They will follow that with a highly anticipated exhibition game at Boise State on Thursday, Oct. 29.
Following their early October road trip, the Mystics will head to New Town, N.D., for a pair of non-conference neutral-site matchups. They will take on California Prestige on Friday, Nov. 6, followed by Eastern Oregon on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Once returning home, Mystics fans won't have to wait long to see the team inside their spectacular new home. The conference schedule tips off on Friday, Nov. 20, as the Mystics welcome their rivals from down I-94, the Dickinson State Blue Hawks. The home opener will be highlighted by a jersey giveaway for the first 500 fans and a ceremony in recognition of former head coach and athletic director Buster Gilliss.
The 2026–27 schedule features 29 total varsity games, including 12 home contests. Single-game tickets are available for purchase. Fans interested in season tickets should visit the Bavendick Center webpage to complete the contact form.
