Dawson Tweet

A native of Russell, Manitoba, Dawson Tweet enters his second season as the Mystics’ Head Assistant Coach, where he primarily works with hitters and infielders.

In his first season on the Mystics coaching staff, Tweet helped lead an offense that posted a .312/.416/.468 slash line, hit 30 home runs, stole 103 bases, and scored 366 runs, while the infielders recorded a .948 fielding percentage. Tweet spent the summer of 2025 coaching the Old School Ducks in Kansas City, Missouri.

Tweet enjoyed a successful playing career at both the collegiate and professional levels. He began at Mesabi Range, where he hit .429 over two seasons, earned All-Region honors in both years, and was named Conference Player of the Year in 2022. He later transferred to William Jewell College at the NCAA Division II level, where he hit .349 across two seasons with a .985 OPS. During the summers, Tweet played in the Western Canadian Baseball League with the Moose Jaw Miller Express, setting league records for hits in a season and a 36-game hitting streak. In 2023, he was named the WCBL Canadian Player of the Year and Batting Champion. In 2024, Tweet played semi-professional baseball for the Welland Jackfish of the Intercounty Baseball League, earning All-Star honors at second base and helping the team to a first-place regular-season finish.
