TUCSON, Ariz. – Bismarck State College's three-day swing through Arizona got off to a rough start Thursday as Cochise College handed the Mystics an 84-59 loss in the Aztec Classic men's basketball tournament.
Deonte Martinez led four Mystics in double figures with 14 points. Anthony Bertucci added 12, Jaden Hamilton 11 and Garrett Bader 10. But they were no match for the Apaches, who shot nearly 60 percent in the first half to extend their winning streak to six seven games.
BSC shot 41 percent for the game but made just 3 of 19 3-point attempts. It trailed 45-28 at the half.
Stephen Byard led Cochise with 21 points and Jalen Barbee added 19.
The Mystics play host Pima Community College Friday afternoon and wrap up play against Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Saturday.
