BISMARCK, N.D. – After losing its last two games by a total of three points, the Bismarck State College women's basketball team left nothing to chance on Thursday, beating United Tribes 80-66 to snap a two-game mini slide.

BSC's big three were at it again against the Thunderbirds. Sydney Gustavsson scored a game-high 25 points and Ashton Kinnebrew and Katherine Fox added 20 points apiece. Gustavsson nd Kinnebrew recorded four 3-pointers each and Fox knocked down three. As a team, BSC made 12 of 32 3-point shots, doubling that of the Thunderbird makes.

The trio took 51 of the Mystics' 70 shots and hit on 22. Piper Harris scored just eight points, but she hauled down a game-high 12 rebounds while handing out five assists and making three steals. Kinnebrew had six assists.

BSC jumped on United Tribes early and took a 26-11 lead after one quarter. Its largest led was 20 points at 47-27.

Sandy Friday led United Tribes with 19 points.

BSC improved to 7-5 in the Mon-Dak Conference and 10-8 overall. The Thunderbirds dropped to 2-10 in the conference and 4-13 overall. 

BSC is home against Miles Community College on Jan. 30 and Dawson Community College on Feb. 6.
