GLENDIVE, Mont. – Dawson Community College got 14 points and 10 rebounds from Michelle Arens and 11 points and 11 boards from Sabira Ahayeva to beat Bismarck State College 57-44 Thursday to move ahead of the Mystics in the Mon-Dak Conference women's basketball standings with one game to play.

The Buccaneers improved to 13-7 in the conference and 15-14 overall, while the Mystics fell to 12-8 in the conference and 15-11 in all games. Dawson CC is third in the conference standings now, while the Mystics dropped to fourth.

The Mystics conclude the regular season on Sunday at Lake Region State College. They open the Region XIII tournament March 1 against an opponent to be determined March 1 at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton.

Th Buccaneers outshot BSC is all facets of the game – 30.3 percent to 27.1 percent overall; 16.7 percent to 9.5 percent on 3-pointers; and 87.5 percent to 66.7 percent from the free throw line. Dawson CC led the whole way. 

Sydney Gustavsson was the only Mystic in double figures with 18 points to go with nine rebounds. Haley Gereau had 10 rebounds and nine points.
