WILLISTON, N.D. – The Bismarck Mystics left nothing to chance on Monday, running away in the second half to beat Williston State 79-54 in a Mon-Dak Conference men's college basketball game.
Anthony Bertucci's dramatic 3-pointer as the first ended gave BSC (7-8 Mon-Dak, 9-12 overall) a double-digit lead and this time the Mystics made it stay in double-digits the entire second half. Bertucci, who finished with 16 points, grabbed a rebound, dribbled it behind his back and banked in a two-third-court shot at the buzzer to give the Mystics a 39-29 lead at the break. He had five 3-pointers and 15 points in the first half.
Deonte Martinez also scored 16 points and Jayden Bernard and Jaden Hamilton added 10 each for the Mystics. Shaheed Muhammad scored a game-high 20 and Wilson Rankin 16 for the Tetons (2-13 Mon-Dak, 4-18 overall).
BSC plays four of its last six games on the road. Its last two home games are Feb. 9 against Dakota College at Bottineau and Feb. 13 against United Tribes.
