GLENDIVE, Mont. – Wyatt Tweet's run-scoring single with two out in the seventh inning plated Griffin Staahl with the winning run as the Mystics downed Williston State College 4-3 in the second game of a MonDak Conference doubleheader on Saturday.
The Mystics (7-3 MonDak, 16-4 overall) also won the opener 9-5 and have won seven straight games.
Jordan Tucker put the Mystics on the board when he led off the sixth inning with a solo homer to tie the game 1-1. Darion Alexander and Brennan Phillips followed with walks. Alexander and courtesy runner Jace Dew both scored on wild pitches. Staahl opened the seventh with a single and Phillips singled with two outs. Tweet then drove home Staahl for the doubleheader sweep. Jadon Moore picked up the win in relief.
Tucker went 3-for-3 and scored twice and JJ Ritter had two hits and drove in three runs in the opener, making a winner of Bryce Libke.
The Mystics play Dakota College at Bottineau on Monday in Glendive. A decision on future game sites will be made at a later date.
