GLENDIVE, Mont. – Kyle Odenbach tossed a one-hit shutout and three pitchers combined on a two-hitter as Bismarck State College extended its MonDak Conference baseball winning streak to nine games with a doubleheader sweep of Dakota College at Bottineau on Monday.
Odenbach gave up only a fourth inning single in a 10-0 win in the opening game. He struck out six in the six-inning game. It was 1-0 until the Mystics struck for eight runs in the fourth inning. The big blow was a three-run triple by Will Bachman. Jordan Tucker added a two-run triple in the inning as well. Tucker and Brenna Phillips scored two runs apiece.
Scott Seim, Stetson Kuntz and Matthew Heupel stymied the Lumberjacks on two hits and fanned 11 in an 11-1 nightcap victory. Leadoff hitter Tucker reached base four times and scored four runs. Phillips had two doubles and scored three times, while Griffin Stahl scored twice from the tail end of the batting order. JJ Ritter doubled, tripled and drive in four runs.
The Mystics head to Miles City, Mont., for a twinbill on Thursday with Miles Community College. They have not played a game at home this season.
