MILES CITY, Mont. – Bismarck State College continued its torrid offensive surge on Sunday, beating Lake Region State College 11-1 and 14-4 in a MonDak Conference men's baseball doubleheader.
The Mystics (11-3 MonDak, 20-4 overall) have scored nine or more runs in 10 of their last 11 games dating back to the start of the winning streak on April 8. They play Dakota College at Bottineau on Monday.
Mitch Sand relieved starter Bryce Libke in the fourth inning and earned the victory. Libke had not allowed a hit before exiting the game before he worked enough innings to get the win in the opener. JJ Ritter reached base all five times he batted, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice and Darion Alexander doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice. Jordan Tucker and Aaron Breitbach also scored twice.
Tucker and Alexander stayed hot in the second game, combining for six runs. Tucker doubled and scored three times and Alexander doubled twice and homered and scored three runs. Will Bachman tripled, drove in two runs and scored three times to make a winner of Stetson Wright, who entered in the third inning and finished the game.
