The Bismarck State College Mystics volleyball team showcased their tenacity and skill in a thrilling opening match of the Region XIII tournament against Lake Region State College. The Mystics emerged victorious with a 3-1 win, securing their spot in the championship game.

The match kicked off with tightly contested sets, reflecting the fierce competition between the two teams. The game scores were 25-23, 24-26, 25-16, and 25-13.

Several BSC players delivered standout performances that contributed to the team's success. Caton Pearcy and Reese Duchsherer each tallied an impressive 12 kills. Pearcy also contributed 12 digs, while Duchsherer added one solo block and three assisted blocks to her stats.

Shaylee Bosch proved to be a force at the net with 10 kills and two assisted blocks. Chelsa Krom supported the defensive effort with 8 kills and four assisted blocks.

In terms of setting up the offense, Delany Deschamp was instrumental, providing 17 assists and four service aces. Kate Zimmer led the team as the primary setter with 23 assists.

Defensively, Maya Vibeto was exceptional, leading with 26 digs, ensuring the Mystics stayed resilient against Lake Region State's attacks.

The Bismarck State College Mystics now set their sights on the championship game, where they aim to continue their winning momentum. 

The Mystics overall record is 24-4, and they are 11-1 in conference.
