No. 8 Bellevue defeat Mystics in straight sets

BSC wraps up road trip with loss

BELLEVUE, Neb. — Bismarck State battled hard but couldn't overcome a balanced Bellevue (Neb.) attack as the Mystics fell 25-17, 25-18, 25-20 on Saturday afternoon.
 

Match Summary

The Mystics improved their offensive efficiency as the match went on, but couldn't sustain momentum against the Bruins' strong front row. After hitting .135 in the first set and dipping to -.022 in the second, BSC rebounded to .243 in the third, yet the Bruins consistency (.213 overall) sealed the sweep.
 

Bismarck State Leaders

  • Dedra Wood led the way with seven kills on .412 hitting, adding four block assists for a team-high 9 points.

  • Chelsa Krom also tallied seven kills (.278) with three blocks.

  • Reese Duchsherer finished with six kills and three block assists, while setter Delaney Deschamp distributed 25 assists and added a block assist of her own.

  • Defensively, Piper Harris anchored the back row with 16 digs, and Shayna Roach chipped in 11.

The Mystics posted 30 kills on .109 hitting, along with 14 team blocks and 52 digs, showing improvement at the net despite the loss.
 

Bellevue Highlights

Bellevue spread its offense across multiple hitters, finishing with 44 kills and a .213 percentage.

  • Bentlee Kollbaum led with 7 kills, while Kealy Kiviniemi and Rowyn Scheer added 6 and 5, respectively.

  • Setter Mila Aiwohi directed the Bruins' offense with 22 assists and a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage on two swings.

  • Defensively, Zoie Roghair tallied a match-high 15 digs.
     

Bellevue improves to 16-3 (12-2 Frontier), while Bismarck State drops to 3-15 (1-12) on the season.
