BISMARCK, N.D. – The Bismarck State College softball team, under the direction of first-year head coach Brady Dutchak, has announced its schedule for the 2026 season, marking a milestone year as the program prepares for its inaugural campaign at the NAIA level.
"This schedule really reflects what we want to build with this program," Dutchak said. "We're challenging ourselves early, getting quality reps against strong competition, and putting our team in situations that will help us grow quickly. It's an exciting opportunity for our players and a great step forward as we enter NAIA play."
Bismarck State will open the spring slate in just 24 days, traveling to Jamestown, N.D., to face Providence (Mont.) on Feb. 6 in the Mystics' first-ever NAIA contest.
The 2026 schedule features 50 total games, including 18 neutral-site matchups. Highlighting the non-conference portion is a 10-game stretch at the Space Coast Spring Games in Florida from March 5 to 10, providing the Mystics with an early-season test against a diverse field of opponents.
Conference play begins later in March, with the home opener set for March 20 against Carroll (Mont.). The doubleheader, scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m., will also mark the Mystics' first Frontier Conference home games. In total, BSC is slated to host seven home doubleheaders at Scheels Field, located in Cottonwood Park, Bismarck.
On Tuesday, Jan. 13, Dutchak will represent the Mystics at the Frontier Conference virtual media day, joined by student-athletes Jada Walter and Brielle Wrangham. Fans can watch their segment live from 11:15–11:30 a.m. CT on the Frontier Conference YouTube channel.
